Abbotsbury Beachcombers’ Village Fête – A Classic Dorset Summer Event

Roll up, roll up! Every July, the legendary Abbotsbury Beachcombers’ Village Fête rolls into town – or more accurately, into the overflow car park (which has never overflowed). It’s a proper Dorset knees-up filled with vintage motors, smoky BBQs, silly games, and good vibes all round.

Brought to you by the ever-dedicated Beachcombers Association, this cracking community fête is a yearly highlight for locals and lucky visitors alike. If you’re looking for a proper summer event in West Dorset with charm, cheer, and the occasional collapsing gazebo, this is the one.

Vintage Vehicles Galore

Petrolheads, nostalgia nerds, and bonnet-polishers rejoice – we’ve got a stunning line-up of classic cars, vintage lorries, and good old tractors that still smell faintly of the ’60s. From purring engines to clunky clutches, there’s something to impress even the grumpiest mechanic.

BBQ & Buns – Follow Your Nose

Follow the irresistible aroma of chargrilled goodness to the BBQ area, where local legends serve up burgers, sausages, and enough ketchup to redecorate a shirt. Grab a cold drink, a hot bite, and settle in for a day of lazy grazing and people-watching.

Games, Laughs & Steptoe’s Corner

Looking for treasure? You might find it (or at least a rusty kettle) at Steptoe’s Corner – our legendary bric-a-brac stall where one man’s junk is another man’s slightly dusty garden ornament. Plus, with games, raffles, and ridiculous competitions, there’s no shortage of ways to have a giggle.

All For a Good Cause

It’s not just fun and fumes – the fête is a charity event with real purpose. Every burger munched, raffle ticket bought, and coin tossed into a bucket helps support local charities and community projects in and around Abbotsbury. So you can enjoy yourself and still feel smugly wholesome.
