Abbotsbury Fireworks Night

One of Dorset's most loved community fireworks displays, and we're going all out this year to make it the best fireworks night near Weymouth. Hundreds of you turn up every year from Weymouth, Dorchester and Bridport, and we intend to earn it.

Abbotsbury Fireworks Night is the Beachcombers' biggest event of the year, and honestly our proudest bit of showing off. Every November the overflow car park next to the Swan Inn turns into Dorset's brightest night sky for about twenty glorious minutes, and hundreds of you come from Weymouth, Dorchester, Bridport and further afield to watch it.

It used to include a bonfire, these days it's all about the fireworks themselves, brilliant bangs, sparkles and the kind of "oooh" you can hear across the whole village. Entry is completely free, though we will be rattling a bucket for donations to keep local charities and future Beachcombers events going.

Food and drink

There's a proper BBQ on the go with burgers and hot dogs, tea, coffee and soft drinks, plus homemade cakes and sweet treats from the village's better bakers. Kids' games run before the display starts.
